Meeting Platforms

Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in an interview: each platform's own AI and transcription features, what the other side sees, and what an assistant can do on it.

Almost every remote interview now happens inside one of three apps, and candidates ask the same three questions about each of them: what does this platform record, what AI does it already run on its own, and does anything I use show up on the other side?

The answers differ per platform and they change as the vendors ship features, so the pages in this cluster are written per platform rather than as one generic "video interview" page. Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams each ship their own meeting AI now — summaries, live transcription, translated captions — and a candidate who assumes the call is unrecorded because nobody said so is usually wrong. That is worth knowing before the interview, independently of whether you use any tool of your own.

On our side the architecture is the same on all three, because SubcueAI never joins the call: it captures system audio through the operating system (ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI on Windows) and draws a local overlay. No meeting bot appears in the participant list and nothing is injected into the meeting page. What changes per platform is what THEY do — which is what these answers are about. Where a platform or an employer forbids AI assistance, the page says so plainly.
