Why we built it
Knowing the answer and delivering it under pressure are two different skills.
The first version of SubcueAI started after one of our founders bombed an interview for a role they were perfectly qualified for. The question wasn't hard. The pressure was. Every existing tool was either a static study guide — useless once the interviewer started talking — or a sketchy browser bot that would get you flagged.
We wanted a real assistant. One that listens to the actual conversation, knows your resume and the job description, and surfaces the right talking points in the half-second before your brain catches up. A coach, not a cheat sheet.
So we built it native — SwiftUI on Mac, WinUI 3 on Windows — captured audio with ScreenCaptureKit and WASAPI loopback, piped it through real-time STT plus GPT-4o, and rendered the suggestions in a floating overlay that lives outside any video call. No browser extension. No meeting bot. No data exhaust.

What we believe
Four non-negotiables
Privacy is non-negotiable.
Interview audio is transcribed in real-time and never persisted to our servers. Resumes encrypted at rest. No third-party ad cookies. Zero training on customer data.
Native beats Electron.
SwiftUI on macOS, WinUI 3 on Windows. ~50 MB install. Battery-respecting. The interview overlay is a real OS window, not a Chromium iframe pretending to be one.
Real-time means real-time.
Sub-400 ms from end-of-question to first AI token. Anything slower and the interviewer is already mid-follow-up. We optimize the whole pipeline — STT, prompt, streaming render — as one path.

SubcueAI is for preparation, recall, and confidence — not for misrepresentation. Our Terms include an ethical-use clause. Always verify suggestions before you answer. The interviewer is interviewing you, not us.
